"O Holy Spirit" - a Galatians 5 Fruit of the Spirit Song

In Galatians 5:22-23 the Apostle Paul outlines some of the impact that God the Holy Spirit can have on the Christian:

“the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.”

These are great qualities for us to enjoy with His help, so here’s a fun song for children and adults to sing together to help us ask for help and remember what the fruits are / fruit is!

Christmas Song for children - idea #3 - a Shepherds' song

"Let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go..."

We're told that when the Shepherds heard about the Messiah being born, "they hurried off..." It was urgent! They wanted to get down to the town, to find the amazing child they'd been told about. Were the angels making it up? There was only one way to find out - get to Bethlehem as soons as they could!

Christmas Carols for kids - idea #2 - an Angel song!

Angels pop up all over the place in the Christmas Story - they're messengers from God, with news that is exciting, challenging, and wonderful. Mary, Joseph, the Shepherds - they all hear from God via Angels. Funny thing is, almost every time an Angel appears, the first thing they say is "Don't be afraid"! They must have been pretty scary...

That's the thought behind this fun song from Maynard's Groovy Bible Tunes: "I'm an angel - ooh!"

Christmas Songs - idea #1 - a Magi / Wise Men song

If you're planning a Christmas Pageant or Nativity Play, don't forget the Wise Men! Yes, they come at the end of the story, but they're still really important.

Here's a song about the Wise Men that tells the story, brings out some of the meaning, and all with a bit of humour too: "Go-Go-Go-Go Gold!"

Easter Songs for Sunday School - #2 - It was a Bad/Mad/Sad Friday!

Here's a great Good Friday song for kids. If you're looking for something for children to sing about Good Friday, then you've come to the right place. This song is great for Sunday School, as it mentions three of the most important things about Jesus being crucified and dying on the cross*, and it's easy to sing, and memorable!

Easter Songs for Sunday School - #1 - We Sing Hosanna

One of the amazing things about Palm Sunday is the contrast between the humility of riding a donkey, and the majesty of who Jesus really is.

Zechariah 9:9 is a key verse which helps us understand: "Rejoice greatly, O Daughter of Zion! Shout, Daughter of Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and having salvation, gentle and riding on a donkey..." (this is quoted in the Palm Sunday account in Matthew 21:1-11)

WOW! Time to sing "Hosanna!" How come the high priests were so grumpy?!

Harvest Songs - #2 - My Little Seed

Here's a harvest song that's great for the younger children at Sunday School, but that the whole church family will love to sing too.

It's about a seed, and how it grows into a big strong plant, and not a weed, thanks to God's help.

It's a very 21st Century Harvest Song, though, reminding us about "the science God has made," and helping the children to see that faith isn't incompatible with facts!

There are some fun actions, and you can get MP3 files to sing along to, and sheet music in PDF format. It's also on a CD of Harvest Songs.
